Navajo handcrafted sterling silver ring with a large rectangular natural Turquoise Mountain stone. Created by Native American silversmith, Etta Endito. The ring has an antique finish to it which brings out the genuine, natural Turquoise Mountain turquoise stone, from the Kingman mine within the Turquoise Mountain peak.
The face of the ring measures 1-1/8" tall and 3/4" wide. The wide triple split shank is stamped all across the back of the band and has applied silverwork on the sides. Weighs 22 grams. Size 10.
Brand new and in perfect condition. Gift Box and Certificate of Authenticity included. Hallmarked by the artist.
I purchased this ring along with other jewelry directly from Deanna Olson, owner of Silver Sun, a longtime member of IACA, at the 2009 spring wholesale market. Since 1985, Silver Sun has been providing authentic, handmade Native American jewelry to the public by wholesaling to fine shops and galleries, museums, and Indian stores across the globe.
About the Turquoise: The turquoise coming from the Turquoise Mountain peak of the Kingman mine in Arizona today looks significantly different from the stones that were mined there back in the 1970's, being lighter blue to green in color, with primarily non-webbed matrix. Turquoise Mountain is highly collectible and is easily distinguished from other stones coming from the Kingman mine.
About Etta Endito: Navajo Etta Endito has been silversmithing since she was 15 years old. After graduating from the Technical and Vocational Institute in Albuquerque in 1986, she began creating her own designs. Now she and her husband, Randy, and her sons work as a team to create elegant, contemporary, well-crafted designs. In 1998, Etta's work was featured in the Indian Craft Shop at the Department of the interior in Washing, D.C. She was one of only eight Native American artists chosen for this honor.
