As a retired Deaf ASL senior lecturer at the University of Florida, he offered Sign Language DVDs and still offers the World's Largest Silent Weekend / Interpreter Conference.

DrSign was the University of Florida's Teacher of the Year 1999-2000 and 2009-2010 and had a waiting list of three years for his "World's Most Exciting Foreign Language" classes.

His annual Florida/Alaska Motorcycle Benefit run raises funds for SKI-HI to help parents of deaf children.
