Service Shop is in the back of the bookstore. Or we are at the front of his building. He being Garfield Ramsey, Rhonda's Dad! He does service jobs that you used to have done at your local hardware store. In fact,he used to work for Dublin Hardware. He received additional training there and at NRCC and manufacturers training schools. So what does he do?
Kerosene heater repair and maintenance, most all brands. Current prices are $35.00 (unless some major part has to be ordered) for general repairs and maintenance (thorough cleaning and replacing the wick, even adding new battery, if needed). You need to remove the kerosene out of the heater before you bring it in. He has some at the shop to use for testing your heater after it is serviced. And he is fast and accurate with the work. You want to have your heater running in top notch shape, quickly, anytime....but especially with a winter like the current one!
Small engine repair. He is a Snapper expert, but works on all brands. Engines including rider mowers, push mowers, generators, leaf blowers, snow blowers, weed eaters and so forth. He has a fast turnaround time and guarantees his work.
Do you need glass replaced in broken windows or storm doors......or windows & storm doors that need new screens? He can do that, too!
He even sharpens chain saws. Especially good since so many folks are cutting wood for wood stoves to save on the high $$ of heating. Those chains do get dull. Please take the chain off the saw when you bring them in...he even gives you a price break for doing that!
Sometimes he has gently used heaters and mowers for sale. When he has one available, you will see it on the sidewalk in front of the building. Or in ads on Craigslist and NRVNews.

Walgreen's and CVS Pharmacies are on the corners across from us. You know them, they are national chains. The folks at both stores are friendly and helpful. Small town service, with big city selection!
TA's Produce is within sight of our store, on the way out of town. The absolute best and freshest fruits & vegetables in town. Great staff, willing to help and suggest items for you. Seasonally, they have bedding plants, hanging baskets, and flowers. We get many plants for our garden and yard there. The ferns they get are the prettiest and fullest, have to see them to appreciate them. They also have Amish products, local honey, candy by the pound, Salt fish, double yolk eggs, local bakery breads (sourdough is beloved) and treats.
Nature's Specialist is just a bit out of town, past Pulaski County High School. They have herbal products, vitamins and supplements, natural products. Best of all, is Dottie Harrell. She is a licensed pharmacist of many years, and has studied herbal and alternative treatments. There was an article on her in the Natural Awakenings Magazine. I have been in her store, and she has worked with me on a few health issues...great results. I will try and find the article on Dottie and link it here, but in the meantime, here is the link to Natural Awakenings Magazine, online
