This gorgeous, generously sized, vintage handmade turquoise and spiny oyster shell necklace was created by a member of the famous Benavidez family from Santo Domingo. It is hallmarked CB on a tiny silver tag that is incorporated into the necklace, as shown for Curtis Benavidez.
* This necklace features hand drilled and hand rolled turquoise graduated heishi, separating forty-five large tabs of old natural turquoise with honey colored matrix.
* The largest piece of turquoise in the center of the necklace measures 1-1/4 by 15/16, and the pieces then graduate down in size to the smallest pieces, that run about 5/8 by 1/2.
* Eight pieces of natural spiny oyster are placed at intervals between the turquoise, four on each side of the necklace.
* The necklace measures about 29 long end to end.
* Weighs about 4 ounces.
