Welcome, Guys & Dolls! Within the confines of this space I have staked out there is no telling what you might find. Unbelievable treasures lurk in the high desert of New Mexico. So far, I haven't found the fabled gold, but I am constantly amazed at the things I run across out here.
Living in the sticks comes with a laundry list of pros and cons, but the fact that my hunting ground includes some of the best scenery and finest people anywhere is a bonus I am truly grateful for every day. In case you've never been to New Mexico, here are a few of the local sights.

This is a place where parades still look like this.
And some of the fiercest competition around still looks like this.
And this. For one brief moment I considered entering the pie-baking contest, cause I'm no slouch in that department,
but these guys and gals take their pies VERY seriously. I'm probably better off just eating it and making the appropriate "mmmmmmm" noises.
And other locals compete like this ~ Native American dancers entering the Pow-Wow tent. The workmanship of these costumes is amazing.
And, at the end of the day, we enjoy jaw-dropping sunsets. You may not believe it, but I did absolutely nothing to this photo. That's exactly how it looked.
