A note to our Customers
If you are a returning customer, you may notice that the price of our soap has increased slightly. Over the past year The Soap Shoppe has been hit with regular price increases on most of the ingredients we use to craft our soap. Many have doubled in cost, while others
have more than tripled. Most notably has been the olive oil industry. The prices for olive oil have more than doubled and are continuing to rise. We have been absorbing those increases in hopes of riding out the usual fluctuations in the market, but we can no longer do so. Since olive oil constitute more than fifty-percent (50%) of the soapmaking oils in each bar of soap we craft, we have been forced to address this issue.
It has always been our goal to provide an exceptional product at an economical price. We do not want to compromise the quality of our products, for a lesser price. We have decided to continue crafting our soap from olive oil, as opposed to using lesser quality oils like
hydrogenated soybean or other vegetable shortenings. Although they are popular and economical choices for many soapmakers, they are chemically processed and altered oils, which do not lend any skin care qualities to soap. The use of Fair Trade products continues to be a high priority at The Soap Shoppe. So, although we might be able to
ascertain more inexpensive ingredients, we are making morally conscientious buying decisions.
This is only the second time, in twelve years of business, that we have increased our soap
prices. It has always been our goal to provide an exceptional product that is accessible to individuals regardless of their economic status. We are still providing an extremely competitively priced product of the highest quality and value and if at any time we receive
